Breaking the Silence: Why Brain Health Conversations Can't Wait

As we approach Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, Kelly Collaborative Medicine is continuing our commitment to the Memory & Thought Conversations initiative. Our practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to our patients, and right now, one of the most pressing issues facing our community is the silent crisis of cognitive decline.
Silence and stigma often delay critical brain health conversations. When we avoid talking about memory loss or cognitive changes, we miss the window for early dialogue that can encourage healthier lifestyle choices and timely medical care.
The Power of Shared Stories
To help normalize these conversations, we are sharing two powerful stories from community leaders who have navigated the realities of Alzheimer's and brain health within their own families.
Rachel Coney-Bowles shares her deeply personal journey of recognizing the signs of cognitive decline and the importance of seeking support early.
Monique LeNoir discusses the emotional impact of Alzheimer's on families and why breaking the stigma in Black and Latino communities is a necessary act of love and leadership.
Leading the Shift in Our Community
At Kelly Collaborative Medicine, under the leadership of Dr. Kathryn Kelly, we believe that trusted healthcare providers play a critical role in advancing health equity. The Memory & Thought Conversations initiative encourages early brain health discussions and reduces stigma in Black and Latino communities.
We can help lead this shift. By watching and sharing these videos, you are helping to amplify trusted voices and bring this vital conversation out of the shadows. Early conversations about brain health are an act of love. They reduce stigma, strengthen families, and empower individuals to take control of their cognitive well-being.
Let's normalize the conversation. Watch, share, and start the Memory & Thought Conversations in your own home today.
