Personal Interests

I love listening to folklore music from the Colombian coast and Andean mountains, playing hide and seek with my two grandsons and, whenever it’s possible, hiking through nature.

Biography

Dr. Bertha Velandia is a Family Physician who received her medical degree from Universidad Nacional in Bogota, Colombia in 1983, and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the UAB Huntsville Medical Campus in 2009. Dr. Velandia received an outstanding award in Obstetrics and Gynecology and she followed it with a Fellowship in FP Obstetrics in Tennessee at Médicos Para la Familia. She has practiced as Family Physician in her country for several years and also served in rural communities.
